It is difficult to better oneself in prison, especially when it is so easy to lose oneself; yet I strive every day to be a better man. I have learned to draw, create greeting cards, earned an AA degree, became a Substance Use Disorder Counselor and have built a solid relationship with G-D.

Hello, my name is Mark; I am 43, 5’ 8”, 150 and blonde/blue. I was born and raised in Northern California where I have lived in cities, small towns, the country and foothills. While I enjoy the hustle and bustle of city life, I feel most comfortable in the slow pace of a small country town. I listen to a wide range of musical genres but am partial to 90’s Country.

After graduating high school, I enlisted in the Army where I hoped to travel the world and experience all it has to offer; but that plan is currently on hold as I am geographically challenged! In the Army, I began to make a series of bad decisions that led me to where I am today. I once lived up to the phrase, “Hurt people hurt people, “but now I make the opposite true, “Healing people help people heal.”

I am interested in meeting people who would be willing to share their experiences with me. Now that I am older and more mature, I am aware of the simple, but priceless, joys of life that I missed out on due to chasing what I thought would bring me happiness; yet I hope to be able to eke out the best life I can. I do not hold any biases towards age, race/ethnicity or religion and will reply to all who choose to reach in to me and be a light in the darkness. Though it often feels like I am living in the dark ages, I promise that I am not a caveman!!
