Hello, my name is Daniel J. Lugo, I also go by Chino. A nickname given to me as a newborn. I'm 42 years young and I've been in prison for 20 years. I am not a bachelor, but I hope you continue to read. I'm a father of 2 children, a girl and a boy. I'm also a proud grandfather of a grandson who is now 3 years of age. I'm a Christian and my faith is a big part of my life.

I work in the activities department where I help with the up keeping of the gym. I also help run CrossFit classes. I'm certified as a CPS (peer support specialist). I just try to help empower the men going through hard times to see they have all they need within them to get over any hurdle that may come their way. I also volunteer as a dog handler for CPS (canine partners for life). I help train Dogs to service people who may be suffering from various illnesses. I must say it feels good to give back to society and help people get their lives back.

I'm 20 years in on a 50-100 year sentence for a murder I did not commit, but yes, I was living a lifestyle and holding my tongue brought about my conviction. I could sit here and throw myself a pity party and be all bitter but what good would that do? I will continue to fight to get back in court, but for the time being I will do my best with every passing day to become a better version of myself; because I have a life to live. The way I look at it, is my soul, heart and brain are still very free and I will not let them go to waste.

I love poetry, studying the Bible and music. I currently manage an amazing talent who is not yet famous, but if you love music the acoustic sound of his guitar will move your soul.

In closing, you may ask yourself why is a 42-year young LOL man putting up an ad on a pen pal site when he's off the market and not looking for love? Your answer. Prison is a cold cold place and if you lose sight of reality you could become callous and heartless. The time they stripped me of I can't get back, so I'm seeking to connect with people I don't know, because I refuse to let them strip me of my Humanity.
